A. Fairweather Sensei, 2nd Dan Alex is the instructor of the Toronto jiu jitsu Club. He started jiu jitsu at Bath University in England in 1991 under Gary Williams Sensei, then moved to London under the tutelage of Steve Donaghy Sensei at University College London. In 1995, Alex founded University of London Union Jiu Jitsu Club. Supported by some great instructors (Tony Finding, Ian Lambert, Nigel Price) Alex received his shodan in 1997. In 1998 Alex handed the club on to a new instructor, Andre Petra, then moved to Canada.

Alex started the Toronto jiu jitsu club in April 2004 at the invitation of Andy Dobie Sensei. In December 2006, Dobie Sensei locked Alex in a dark room and made him do his nidan.
