Canada 2003

Jitsu Canada hosted the first International event in the summer of 2003, in Peterborough, Ontario. Originally this started as a celebration summer school to mark the anniversaries of 10 years of Jitsu Canada and 25 years of The Jitsu Foundation. The event was a great success and the senior instructors present realised the huge benefits associated with bringing our worldwide family together. It was resolved to hold an International every three years, with Holland being chosen for the 2006 event.

Approximately seventy members trained at the Canada 2003 event. The majority of participants came from Canada and the UK, with representation also from the USA and Holland. The event featured three days of training (Friday night, Saturday and Sunday) with a celebratory dinner on the Saturday. Many visitors extended their stay to take advantage of various sightseeing opportunities in Ontario.
